HPS was founded in 1991 and its headquarters are located at the Department of Botany, Faculty of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. It is a non-profit Scientific Society.
According to the Society˘s constitution, the affairs of the Society shall be regulated by its General Assembly and by a Council of 5 elected members. The main officers of the Society are the President, the Vice-President, the Secretary, the Treasurer, and a council member.
